In between moving to a new home, renovating during the warmest days of the year, decluttering, packing and unpacking boxes, caring for a stressed cat and dog, I did steel time to make new work. I’m happy to show you these new freshly finished linoleum reduction prints! I had a lot of fun making these and it caused much needed distraction to be able to work in the studio now and then. But it was also challenging, as I sometimes struggled to stay focused and the very warm weather (and especially the humidity) of the past few weeks was not the most ideal circumstance for the linoleum ink and caused quite a few delays and misprints. So I ended up (proudly though!) with 2 small limited editions of 16 prints each in different colour schemes both with 5 color layers. Being a true fan of color I could lighten my heart with this project and I didn’t hold back experimenting with new combinations which I love doing! So besides the 2 editions there are a few stand alone single prints in different colors. As a child my mum used to have the Zwiebelmuster tableware and I am using this coffee/tea pot as a vase. The blue and white pottery is a returning inspiration in my work.
